Quoting Nick Rout <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>: > have you got cinelerra to work?
I have tried the official release and its pretty close to working, but for some reason it doesnt work with my IEEE1394 sub system (Where Kino and dvgrab work fine). Kino grabs and exports video OK but is usless as far as serious editing goes. I have downloaded and played with the latest beta version of MainActor V5, and they have done a huge amount of work... so much so that it will give Adobe Premier a good run for its money once it is officially released. (Sadly they only had the Windows beta for download, but it is obviously based on QT. Linux Version due shortly after official release). see http://mainconcept.com/mainactor_v5.shtml for details. There are lots of GNU based projects, but most are either in the "Idea" stage, early development, or nothing happening. Some of them are worth keeping an eye on. I have also heard from a Friend in Hollywood (A Producer) to keep my eye out at the end of this year. I have also heard through other channels that Pinacle systems are possibly developing a NLE for linux. Mike --------------------- !!!! Linux Rocks !!!! ---------------------
