yes. and this is something that has always confused me. I store GMT in my
system clock, which means that the time in windows is out by 12 hours or
so. this doesn't bother me...i don't run any date specific apps under Win.
However, now and then Windows manages to figure out that the time is off
by 12 hours or so and changes the clock, which means Linux suddenly jumps
to be out by 12 hours or so. This does bother me, because I run lots of
date-specific apps under Linux.

here's my delimma: I never connect to the Internet under Windows. How does
windows know the right time to change the clock?
