Hogwash. FUD. There are no Linux drivers for HP flatbed scanners currently on the market. (Linux support for historic HP scanners was good.) Go check sane and read the sane-devel list, there may be some experiments going on but nothing stable. As a result, an HP scanner is out of the question, as there are better alternatives. Btw I forgot, the Epson 1650 and 1660 are also in the "HP" category, they don't use the usual Epson interface. Cheap ***t.
