I just bought a Packard Bell 6 in 1 (reads SM, CF, Memory Stick etc.)
external USB flashcard reader that is supposed to work under Linux (it
says that it is supported on 2.4 kernels in the manual) so I assume it
just uses the mass storage standard within the USB protocol. I plugged
it in (I run Mandrake) and....nothing. Now, on the same system I plugged
in a Sony Memory Stick USB reader and it was automagically found and
configured as a storage device that I could mount and unmount and then
use. I have scoured the net and delved pretty deeply into how I might
get this to work, all to no avail even though the device shows up in
usbview. I even tried transitmount: http://amphi-gouri.org/transitmount/
without success.
Ideas??
Cheers
Jason
