Yes, its dual-platform.  A Linux version would be nice.

I am sure you meant Macromedia ;)

I agree with you that its a fantastic product.  More so if you know what 
you're doing, of course.  After doing a weekend course at the Polytech I 
was impressed enough to purchase the academic version.  (I'd only signed 
up to learn Dreamweaver, so the introductory HTML stuff bored me 
senseless.)

Before that I was using pico to write my HTML by hand.  Dreamweaver 
actually lets me concentrate on the *design* aspect, playing around with 
ideas without spending hours writing messy table code.  While I edit I 
can keep a good eye on the code so if it does get confused (which is not 
often) I can easily fix it.  Also the site management features are worth 
their weight in gold.

BTW it could be worse; most of the part-time web courses seem to teach 
with Frontpage.
