Ok, I am getting somewhere now. I did an md5sum check on the Knoppix CD Nick gave me today..it matched the one I got from the mirror ok:

[EMAIL PROTECTED] jason]# md5sum /dev/cdrom
7a64bbcd3a02b376d722815a232cec22 /dev/cdrom
[EMAIL PROTECTED] jason]#

-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE-----

7a64bbcd3a02b376d722815a232cec22 KNOPPIX_V3.1-2003-01-20-EN.iso
-----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE-----
Version: GnuPG v1.2.1 (GNU/Linux)

Anyway, I get IO errors when I try and do the same on Nick and Chris C's CD's for the Installfest:

[EMAIL PROTECTED] jason]$ md5sum /dev/cdrom
md5sum: /dev/cdrom: Input/output error
[EMAIL PROTECTED] jason]$

Should I dd to an ISO anyway if I can or should I stop right there??

Cheers

Jason Greenwood
