I like java a lot, mainly bacause it's realitively easy to pick up (unlike C *evils in it's direction*) and it provides a really nice way to design guis via JavaSwing.

Finally for now, how about UML / CASE tools with code generation and reverse engineering capabilities? Any recommended packages?
