I run gentoo, so I can't say I have had the same problem. But let me as you this: When you moved all you data from the second drive to the first drive, did you copy over the win systems files? If so, the winxp bootloader thinks it is try to startup your old configuration. As you said the main loader is working fine, so you probably need to reconfigure your winxp loader (ntldr, I think). By the way, are you using grub or lillo as your main boot loader?

The boot loader loaded OK but I can not load into XP. It tries to then

Before I wade into the Mandrake site, has anyone else had this problem
with Mandrake?

System I have is as follows:

P4 2.4 with 512 RAM
2 x 80G IDE drives
GForce Ti card with 128M RAM
Live 5.1 sound card
any other stuff

Mandrake installed Linux onto hdb1 and I asked it to allocate 20M on
this drive to Linux, which it did. I can still see all my data on
this
drive that WIN XPP had ie My Documents folder and all subfolders and
files.
