There is no project. The only packages available for helping to manage a toy library runs on windows and costs $$$. Unfortunately, those with the motivation to write an opensource toy library package (i.e. me), are also likely to have at least one small child (3 for me), and, as a consequence, almost no free time. There are over 200 toy libraries, and the software that I know of costs about $350. That's over $70,000 on software that could go to an opensource programmer. Of course, many libraries are not computerised, but the number is definitely increasing. In a few years, nearly all will be computerised. The window of opportunity for an opensource product is closing, and there's squat I can do about it.

My wife is the president of a local toy library and has
been nominated for the Toy Library Federation of New
Zealand board of trustees. If anyone would like to
make a suggestion in this area, then I can channel it
to the top. One of the members of the board, though,
is a reseller of toy library software.

Cheers,
Carl.
