having watched this conversation for a while, isn't a problem that even
if someone wrote a decent linux app for this problem, you don't have a
box to run it on? The php/sql/apache type of solutions surely require a
reasonable server, with the two  windows machines a clients.

Unless you want to run php/sql/apache on windows??? *blech*
