Well I actually managed, using the Win2k CD to get a command prompt and rename the suggested file but it did not fix the problem.
Thanks for all of the advice. Looks like a rebuild. ........and before someone starts knocking Windows, we have approximately 50 PC's running W2k here in the South Island and this is the first "Blue screen of death" type problem I have had to deal with.
