I was so stoked when setting up my digital camera it asked my what sort it was I found it on the list and bingo set up no worries. no if only the same thing could be said for my scanner - I got a simplex 8420U I can't even find out who the manufacturer is for certain Mandrake 9.1 reckognises it as a mustek scanner it goes through the motions of scanning but comes up with a solid black pic. not to worry, I wasn't overlly fussed with it anyway so it's probably time for a new scanner
