Pico is the editor of choice for Satan, as it is obviously developed under the heel of a totalitarian dictatorship, and hence lacks any semblence to anything remotely un-text-editor-ish.
Emacs, OTOH, is obviously been developed by committee, in an ideallic democratic oligarchy, designed to be all things to all people, and include so many features that even the development group don't actually know what it is actually capable of.
The Vatican of course use vi!
