*shrug* we're here as linux users, not anti-microsoft people. Its a lot more to do with the guy's attitude and insensitivity, rather than the actual question asked. I add that I did tell him what to do to fix the problem, but not until a good while later did he say that it didn't work for him. Remember, we pointed out various other methods of assistance, from the UOC helpdesk to Campus Computers. My point is - which was worse? his OT question, or the way he asked it? Compare "Can someone send me a copy of /usr/bin/pico - I deleted mine by mistake" to "My machine is broken - fix it for me" to "I broke my machine -...details... - what could I do to fix it" I'd like to gently remind everyone that linux users, unix users, and geeks in general can be quite sensitive when it comes to the details, and windows(-only) users have a habit of glossing over or ignoring those details. From such a combination only fires can arise. (...waxing eloquant in the name of Boring Thursday.)
