I am pretty pleased ATM to say the least. Getting 270K/s right now....
Damn, if broadband were cheap enough, then EVERONE would have it and then the Internet would really be what it could be - a far more viable resource than it is now. Just think - streaming content and all the rest. Web enabled/based apps could become a reality and a mobile offices running off of a central server is definately plausable. Think of this - Linux thin mobile clients..... =) Wholesale Bandwidth is cheap enough - every ISP/Hosting co knows this. It is the LINE OWNERS that are creating the artificial toll booths of the internet. /end/rant.
Cheers

Hi there,
Hi All,
I have something weird going on with my Jetstream (Jetstart)
account. I have ICONZ as my ISP with Telecom (of couse) providing my
actual ADSL line. I signed up for Jetstart (uncapped) which they
reckon should be about 3x the speed of dialup at around 15-16K/s.
Well, when they just recently changed their pricing structures and
speeds, JetStart was to be unaffected and still be cap free. I still
only pay $30/Mo for the ADSL line and 22.50 to ICONZ. Well, I am
happy to report that now I am getting a WHOPPING 200K/s speeds and
faster. I can regularly have concurrent 120K/s ftp download sessions
running at the same time. Looks like they screwed up and switched me
to JetStream for free. I am not saying anything of course but just
wondering if anyone else is having this same turn of good luck?
Um, you may get a shock when your iconz and telescum bills come through.
I would be inclined to ask why you are getting the higher speeds, because if they have accidentally removed your Jetstart bandwidth restriction you may also find they have accidentally put you on the full Jetstream price plan too (read expensive!)...
Kind regards,
Chris Wilkinson, Christchurch.
