Unfortunately I wasn't very clear in my original post. The thing is that 
I am not even able to format a partition to install another OS on, let 
alone put it in grub or lilo! It seems that I am unable to extend the 
extended partition to include other virtual partitions. I have 32 gig of 
free space but I can't create the partition. It was originally formatted 
in fat32 but I deleted the partition. I think it may be impossible to 
add an extra partition once it has been set up like this. Any suggestions?
