libimlib1-devel seems to be in the mandrake distro according to planetmirror.
the library may be present but as it seems we need to compile iscan, we will also need the development part of the library - header files & so forth - thats what (should be ) in the -devel package.
download the source rpm - the gcc 3 version - that bit is important, and you may as well install libimlib1-devel as it looks necessary. IIRC there is no difference between the source rpm and the tarball source file.
the gcc 3.x versions all seem to have the name "redhat8.0", but get'em anyway, they compiled fine on my gentoo gcc 3 box.
...will do...
libimlib1 is installed, but not the devel headers...that'll go on soon and I might just have enough clock space to try compiling it tonite...
Kind regards,
