They wouldn't be quite so cool if they were AT plugs....  IBM did a good
thing there.

They're too big is the problem... an extra inch all around seems like a
lot.  I prefer generic compaq keyboards now.

Mind you - they're good for thwacking recalicant equipment either back
into shape or permenantly into the skip...

Fair enough - but how many other keys are there on the keyboard that you
don't use....  PrntScrn/SysRq?  the entire numeric keypad?  etc etc. 
The standard keyboard layout just keeps growing and growing because no
manufacturer is keen on removing a potentially useful key.  Which is why
laptops have such small keytops, to make room for them all.
