Yes. We boot Debian from a PQI Disk-on-module, which is plugged right into the IDE header on the motherboard. We start X and Java and use that to display travel information from a central database. The drive is mounted read-only, which makes them less likely to get hurt, and if the power fails- everything's fine. The whole thing is fanless, with no moving parts (no HDD). We can connect pretty much any kind of monitor (plasma, LCD, CRT) plus there is an on-board video out, which gives us the option of using a TV. We were going to install a wireless card in the single PCI slot, but decided not to. We use D-link DWL-810+ bridges instead for ease of configuration/installation. Andy
