Your likely problem with the unmounted drives is that Linux by default doesn't 
have supermount as part of the kernel you have to patch it to get supermount 
working as it does in the normal Mandrake kernels.
As for X if you using a Nvidia card with nvidias drivers you'll need to patch 
the nivida kernel driver and recompile it.

For the supermount patch though it appears to be out of date it may still work 
though it'll add another option to the filesystem config tab.
