IIRC IPCop is a fork of Smoothwall. One of our fellow CLUGgers had a spat with the smoothwall developer and recommended IPCop as an alternative. Since I consider all CLUGgers as my friends, I decided to go with IPCop. I'm sure SW is good too. I don't believe any general use PC should be connected to the outside world without a firewall inbetween. This is true for linux and double true for that other OS. And it's so simple to do - I'm shocked I didn't do it earlier and amazed I haven't been rooted in the meantime (to my knowledge). Yuri
