For the internal softmodems, yes. On SuSE installing the driver rpm is all that's needed (no further config and no compiling) (both intel and lucent chip ones). However, the point of a hardmodem is that all driver issues are sent to /dev/null. > Type the following command: cat /proc/pci > III.
