1> Has anyone played with some form of Stream broadcasting software for Linux? I found ICECAST, and instantly HATE it... The downloads fail, the two downloads I *did* get arent complete, and subsequently tar doesnt wanna know, so I was wondering if there's a mirror (to www.icecast.org) or an alternative thats co-operative
2> For use on a desktop, I've found that RedHat is pretty reasonable. One toy I'm having current difficulty with is Yahoo Messenger. I can install this, and run it, successfully... but when I reboot the machine (need the power socket for the vacuum cleaner every now and again) I find that I cant log in as the user, and startx... it just wont start... Only happens AFTER I install Yahoo 3> Linux PDC + Macintosh PPC client = Eeeurgh! This is enough to have a man hairless by the time next wednesday rolls around! There's an easy way to do this, yes? Has anyone had a go at this? Successfully? 4> Just bought a Play Station 2 with Gran Turismo 3. The reason I bought a PS2 over an XBox is that someone told me that you can buy a Linux kit for it, and it'll run a 'butchered' version of Linux quite tidily... Anyone have any information about this? 5> Home server... 4 * 200 P Pro 512 Megs Ram 6 * 4GB Hot Swap SCSI drives ( 2 * Raid1, 4 * Raid5) 56k Modem (::sudden embarrassment::) wvdial and IPTables firewall/NAT effort I've found that, to get a default route to the modem, I can manually type... route add default gw <IP address of PPP0 connection here> Can I get WVDIAL to do this by itself?
