But the UML kernel is a patched version of your normal kernel, so a standard distribution can't be used - this isn't quite like VMware, which provides a virtual machine below your OS. Bochs is a potential freeware method of achieving a virtual machine, but speed is a serious issue. Is anyone here using UML? I've wanted to have a server with different user-spaces in it for a while, and UML sounds like a good way to give people root access to their own machines ... better than chrooting :-) -jim
