Have to disagree here, I have had this problem and changing the protocol for the mouse within the XF86Config solved it, same erratic behaviour and general dodgy-ness. I believe that it is the protocol selection that is at fault here... or Chris' second suggestion has occurred, been there cursed that. As for purchasing an optical mouse, Chris is again right, optical mice are by no means a silver bullet re the surface you are mousing on, and you still (if this is indeed your prob) need to set that dang protocol right ;-) -- Cheers, Chris
