These do not install woody (stable). Stable is extreemly well supported for security, testing and unstable are not to the same degree.

If you want testing (sarge) then install Debian and update daily.  The
installation is good.

Normally I'd say something along the lines of 'but stable is now years old... you should be using something newer', but with the hardware you're using, I'd say it's the perfect choice. Download a net install image ( about 30MB iirc ), and get going!

Don't forget that ftp.nz.debian.com is no longer with us... there's a post about it somewhere back a couple of days in the list.

Another alternative is White Box linux ( http://whiteboxlinux.org ) which is a free version of the commercially available RedHat Linux ES 3.0. Might be useful if you're already comfortable with that distro. I wouldn't run either with a graphical front end, though!
