Normally I'd say something along the lines of 'but stable is now years old... you should be using something newer', but with the hardware you're using, I'd say it's the perfect choice. Download a net install image ( about 30MB iirc ), and get going!
Don't forget that ftp.nz.debian.com is no longer with us... there's a post about it somewhere back a couple of days in the list.
I have a mirror at debian.paradise.net.nz to download debian from but I not sure what I need to download.
I don't need the latest release, but do want a stable version.
