Unpatched means download the source, compile, run. Patched has an edit or 2 in between. I've used it as a ''security'' measure in the past to return a non-sensical id string from apache to confuse the script kiddies.



I know what unpatched means, I wanted to know why Rik thought it was significant in the current context.
