yes i suppose i should have thought about this and make myself more understood. My desire is if possible to download largish files from the net be they security updates whatever and download them via ftp then i can start / stop the downloading until all the file is got. burn the rpm to a cd. Then via rpmdrake (radio button show by repositories/Mdeia) enter the rpm filename select the file based on the repository and install it. Now if there are any dependancy issues the install will warn me, and download them from the net.
