I was getting a message saying ... can't create list file: Permission denied at /usr/bin/genhdlist line 78. and another saying error on line 68 must be relative to /usr/bin I tried it with the path to genhdlist tacked onto the end of the command line. and at the begining. eg bash-2.05b$ genhdlist --dest /home/dave/rpms /usr/bin <-- error line 68 not really sure what i did differently (think it was putting the /usr/bin at the start as in the copied command below. [EMAIL PROTECTED] dave]# genhdlist --dest /home/dave/rpms/ parsing . /root/tmp/.build_hdlist/eciadsl-usermode-0.8-1.i386 /root/tmp/.build_hdlist/freebuilder-0.7.3-1.noarch /root/tmp/.build_hdlist/rpmdrake-2.1.2-12mdk.i586 /root/tmp/.build_hdlist/racer-0.4.9-274.src:racer-0.4.9-274.nosrc /root/tmp/.build_hdlist/kdenetwork-kppp-3.2-17.1.100mdk.i586 /root/tmp/.build_hdlist/kdeutils-kedit-3.2-18.1.100mdk.i586 /root/tmp/.build_hdlist/shorewall-2.0.1-3.1.100mdk.noarch /root/tmp/.build_hdlist/shorewall-doc-2.0.1-3.1.100mdk.noarch /root/tmp/.build_hdlist/spamassassin-tools-2.63-2mdk.i586 choosing compression method with "gzip -9" for archive hdlist.cz real archive size of hdlist.cz is 83235 [EMAIL PROTECTED] dave]# Now what a load of bollocks..... i did the command before and got an error message i now do it and it bloody well works!!! I can type in genhdlsit and it works (with me being in the rpms directory). maybe because i had not used it before the system didnt have a config file for genhdlist. again thanks for the time and effort. -- Dave Lilley
