I've installed a number of wifi cards in x86 machines including linux-wlan-ng drivers compiled from source, but I am guessing you are looking for something familiar/ipaq specific?
Am I also right in guessing the "package" you are referring to is a familiar/ipaq binary package? Maybe you need to compile from source. I saw you discussing cross-compilation on NZLUG - will this achieve your ends?
