It's not been easy. I've been looking for activity on the Familiar
distro and I'm not seeing any since last November. If it's that far
behind, I can't drag it all the way forward single-handed.

As far as I can see, there's more activity on real Debian ARM Linux
running on a big CF card. But if I put a CF sleeve on, I loose my PCMCIA
wireless connectivity and my plans to also use it as a mega remote
control and armchair surfing device are scuppered.

The abandonment would be temporary - just until I can get the necessary
hardware and a current Linux distro on my meagre budget. But it does jar
having to use Microsoft stuff because the Linux stuff isn't ready yet.
