I simply asked the nice people at paradise to sort out my dns, I only have a few entries, all of which point to my one fixed ip address (I think I have www.rout.co.nz, rout.co.nz and maybe smtp.rout.co.nz)
They also kindly do backup mx for my domain, so when my connection is down (usually thanks to them anyway) it gets nicely queued by their mailservers. all at no extra cost N On Wed, 11 Aug 2004 16:42:08 +1200 Andy George <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > OK, so I just signed myself up for the Paradise Cable High speed drama... > Overly excited about all this, but now that I've calmed a little, I'm > guessing that a Static IP address (I specifically asked for one) means I can > run a BIND/Qmail arrangement on my server at home, Galaxy. > > Trick is, I've had little experience with Internet based DNS and taking > State of Authority over a DNS name...
