He was talking about a DNS server, not a mail server, and whether he
was intending on receiving any mail at domains on his home DNS. And
Telstra Cable is a 24/365 service. Not much point running any server if
the box isn't always on.

Time to point out that per domain, two active and different DNS servers
on 2 different IPs are required. A single home IP isn't enough...

Uhhm, feel free to consider yourself well within your rights to nuke
subscriptions which bounce the second time because some home computer
is turned off. People will get the point that having the mx host offline
50% of the time just doesn't work ;)
