Did you partition the drive before or after the Win98 install?
i.e. this could be a resizing issue that we all need to learn from.

That's obviously the case, but have you any idea as to how or why? all i can say is that windows did it....
if it was a machine i used on a a daily basis i would probably look from time to time at the disk used space and say "hold on why does it say there is 10G total when i partitioned 5" . The simple fact is i don't know how long it has been like that, whether it was like that when i set it up, or whether something changed. It could have been like that forever, but only became a problem when the OS wanted to use space past the 5G mark.
