How very perceptive of you, and indeed that is the case. Currently the external sensor is dangling on the end of a piece of wire sticking through the window frame. I have made a shade for it, and I plan to move it to somewhere in the back garden where it will sense ambient temperature but be shaded from direct sunlight. I'll probably do that when the anemometer and wind vane are ready to go out there with it. Andy
