While burning with cdrecord dev=/dev/cdrecorder ..., I noticed I made a
mistake (testing things out with CD-RW) and instead of waiting for the
burn to finish, I just pressed ^C. The cd burner keeps on being busy
flashing its burn light, the (IDE) device is inaccessbile and times out,
i.e. all of cdrecord dev=/dev/cdrecorder -reset/-eject,
hdparm /dev/cdrecorder hang with long timeouts. Needless to say,
every app thinks it's very smart to lock the eject button, making it
impossible to force a drive reset that way. I'm not quite game to use a
hairpin while the disk is still spinning. Is this state fixable other
than by the redmond solution?

Is Billyware as bad as this crap?
