You're right again Luuk - snaffled by a non-standard reply-to.
This response comes to you via list, shared info as intended.

Hi Rik,

I think you may have only sent this to me instead of to the list - not
sure what my reply-to header is doing at the moment with Gmail, will
have to investigate. Gmail is google mail. It is basically a webmail
service with 1GB of storage space, and lots of nifty features making
it easier to use than other webmail clients. However, it is still in
beta, and the only way to join is for someone to invite you. Invitations are passed out to current users to give to others and for
a while were in high demand, although currently supply is starting to
exceed the demand, so they may just be rolling it out. One good thing
about the invite system is that it is more likely to keep out spammers
etc..

Cheers,
Luuk

Not trying to start a war or anything, as I haven't been to a single
meeting so it has no effect on me whatsoever, but a month ago you sent
an e-mail saying that the last booking was for 30 November. (Just
testing out my memory and the search capabilities of Gmail.)

That'd be right. Since then (SuSE meeting), we've had an excellent offer. A
member of the Yobbo network lives a few doors down from the Sydenham hall,
and can pipe us in broadband. So there's a wireless workshop planned now,
that'll demo the Yobbo setup and Debian networking tools. I, for one, am
quite excited at the prospect of this particular solution lesson. But
patience is employed:

The Free/Open Source licensing forum planned for 30Nov04 would thus be set
back to Feb05 to make room for Yobbo, if that suits folk, and to minimise
disruption of the schedule already set.

OT: if anyone is interested in a gmail invite, can they please contact
me off list. I have 4 spare invites at the moment, but they appear to
be coming in thick and fast, as they are used up.

Is that a chat function?

Call an AGM & set up meetings in St Albans if you wish.

I don't want to be the cause of a split of the membership.

That needn't be the case. A more vibrant community could result.
