Sorry about YAOTPFY[1],

I've got a big box of solid core Cat 5E cable sitting in the living
room waiting to be strung around the house. I've got double-jackpoint
keystone jack thingies, and I'm intending to use the top jack for data
and the bottom jack for POTS, in each room.

I have a twelve port patch panel to install in the "server-room"[2]
next to the network switch. I will install these double jack thingies
in six rooms, with the top (data) jacks connected to patch-panel ports
1-6, and the bottom (POTS) jacks to patch-panel ports 7-12.

I have two phone lines coming into the house. I intend to run cat 5E
from the telecon demarcation thingy to the "server-room"[2] to two
phone plugs next to the patch-panel. I then want to have little wee
patch leads from each of the phone jacks to patch-panel ports 7-12,
thus livening the bottom jack in each room as a phone jack.

To swap a room from external POTS line 1 to line 2, all I'll have to
do is swap it at the patch-panel.

My question is - thus any of this make sense? Am I missing something?
What gotchas can anyone warn of before I start?

Cheers
Yuri
