Christopher, do you know how many ports are currently available?
it has 12 in all, of those 4 are taken. 2 for registered victims. 1 for router to I'net. 1 for Gentoo file server. So that leaves 8.
That should cover us, even without an additional switch or hub.
Are they RJ45?
Normal cat5 terminating plugs, so yes.
Good
I'm concerned by the concurrent AGM, as it'll suck away many who would otherwise be fixers.
ATM there are only 3 items on the agenda. 1) (re)-election of the committee. 2) Should we have more meetings in the St. Albans Community Centre? 3) Any other business.
I would expect that the first 2 could be over and done with in about 10 to 15 mins at the most. Hopefully "any other business" will be dealt with in as many seconds. However, if somebody has something about which they have the urge to speak, then I would hope that they will speak up at that time.
Is running these things concurrently really an option?
That's my opinion at the moment.
OK, we're on then - assuming there are sufficient punters, which there are almost sure to be.
I'll send out the call for punters in a week's time, which will be 3 weeks before the event, then 1 week beforehand I'll publish a list of issues people want to address.
Douglas.
