Yes, you will need to change the boot-up arrangements.
I got past that ok, but the install must have other - internal -
referencing to 'where it lives' it seems.
The reiserfs was unhappy before then anyway, & now it says
"Filesystem couldn't be fixed :( "

Like you, I dropped power once & it never really recovered. But problem
as descibed above, I think. Too complicated for me as yet.
I had a reiserfs fall apart today when tha mains the the 'puter was cut off in
error. A whole lot of system files in /sbin just vanished. I just replaced
them from the LiveCD and everything seems to back to normal.

Not necessarily so. Only if you want to sacrifice speed ( lots ) on the
virtual altar of reliability.
