actually a good rule i have found in life (and one i should follow more
often) is "don't sweat the small stuff" - if you have minor niggles live
with them for a while, you will eventually either

a) learn to live with them; or
b) learn what you are doing wrong; or
c) give up

just don't do (c) too soon.

now your problem reporting still sucks!

1. what is the problem with the touchpad? is it that scrolling is not
working? go to Sax2 (in the system menu i think, near where yast is) and
choose input devices and mouse - what is it set up as and can you see
any alternatives that better fit what your mouse device is? i don't
think synaptics is the right one, is imwheel there? it might be right
for an alps glidepad.

2. the buttons for launching email and the browser are hardly biggies,
especially as these programs are in the taskbar that is always visible.
don't sweat it. do not expect perfection when you did no research on
linux compatibility before purchase. google google google (difficult i
know with such an obscure laptop linux wise). these buttons are designed
in different ways, if they emulate a regular keypress (albeit with an
obscure keycode) then they are pretty easy to work with. If they do not
emulate a keypress then it depends on someone reverse engineering the
hardware and writing a driver.
