Wether he does it himself or not, if the PC comes with an "image" type rescue 
disc then he will probably have no choice about partitioning.

Ralph, if you have a Windows serial number (for XP Pro) I could probably lend 
you a WinXP Pro CD to do a manual installation. Unfortunately it may mean 
manually loading/obtaining other software and drivers though.
