As far as "gz" files (the "gz" stands for GNU-zipped) are concerned, you should waitâ 12, maybe 18â months before attempting to install one of those; understanding what to do, why you do what you do, and interpreting the error messages requires knowledge of code, operating systems, and libraries above and beyond what many users possess.
