I have my ThinkPad connected to the mains all the time at home *with no battery installed*. The battery I leave in a drawer at around 40% charge. If I know I'm going to use it I charge it and take it. If it's short notice I know that 40% lasts a while. Other than that, if the battery is installed at any particular time I will either use it or charge it. I don't do much special with it if it's in, I just make sure that at home the charge is about right when it's put in the drawer. I also have a car adaptor, which makes it less of a worry that I'll be unable to run the laptop or charge it up. Andy PS Where'd you get the laptop? I'm looking for a ThinkPad 600E. -- Now playing: Karl Jenkins - Saint Declan's Drone
