Trevor, Thanks for the re-worked httpd file. I've really stuffed this Apache setup. It won't even start the service now, not even with the default httpd.conf loaded. It started when I moved the old httpd then deleted it. Apache couldn't find it and got into all sorts confusion.
Rather than mess with it any more I think I'll let it run for now on IIS and select a Linux distro to completely replace W2K on the server. Steve suggested a Debian text based distro. This seems to me like a good idea as I won't need all sorts of applications loaded and a gui etc, just Apache and the pages. I would probably be out of my depth with it but hey what the hell. What are you using with your Apache 1.3 setup ? Is there something that would run on primitive hardware?
