Speaking as a Brit driving 38 years

Insurance is compulsory over there and I think the insurance premiums
are based on statistics. Therefore a 17 yr old with a Porsche plus
performance modifications and a 2 drink driving convictions would find
her premium increase by several hundred percent.

In another life many years ago, I was a construction manager. A young
labourer shot off one lunch time for some chips. He was a typical boy
racer. He didn't come back that afternoon.

In a hurry to make it to the chip shop, he decided to overtake a funeral
procession of 3 cars. Unfortunately a bus came the other way and in an
attempt to squeeze in between said bus and procession, ended up damaging
all 3 cars in procession, damaging the bus and writing off his own car.
He spent some time in hospital, we had to replace him on site so he
ended up with no car, no job, and an insurance quote for his next car of
about 1500.

Maybe he should buy a computer.............. running Linux of course!
