You install the fltk, fltk-devel, ghostscript and xpdf packages from the SuSE media. Download flpsed and compile as to its instructions. You are meant to install into /usr/local, this area is left untouched by system upgrades (unless you format the root partition) and is outside the package management system's control. It ensures that the compiled flpsed binary is consistent with the distribution you're running. This all is true for any distribution.
