No binary files? no, its all binaries, although they also package the source complete with tools to compile them "the debian way" - there are some license based exceptions like pine which has a license forbidding the distribution of binaries made from patched sources, and so you have to build it yourself to get the "debianised" pine. Such exceptions are pretty rare. One of the problems with debian cd's is that the target is constantly moving. i.e. what is in stable today will be different to yesterday and tomorrow. you can either get a full iso from the above reference, in which case there will be quite a bit of updating to do after you install. or follow the suggestion and use jigdo, which builds you an up to date cd. Alternatively you can go with a network install over the internet as others have suggested, this is probably less downloading than jigdo, as it will only download what you actually want. > > > > Shane > > >
