Yes, but poor Altsys does not deserve Adobe. They didn't like Adobe.
That is why they sold FreeHand to Macromedia after Aldus was purchased
by Adobe. But in the end Adobe got the remains of Altsysâ

Why should they? Both are makers of user-oriented software, rather than
server-oriented software, and Linux does not matter a toss in that
market. Sad but true. Yes, it is a chicken and the egg situation â
PageMaker does not run under Linux so there are no PageMaker users on
Linux â but the fact remains: they are not there.

Both companies do give away a fair bit Linux: Acrobat Reader, Flash,
some code [1], and file specifications [2]. My prediction is that you
will see Dreamweaver for Linux in the not-too-distant future, as Web
developers *do* use Linux, even if DTP users don'tâ

The consolidation will not change things. People using Linux will change
